This young athlete maintains impressive online audience
The young golfer will have multiple high-profile supporters when she begins her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be connected to Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
The former president, a passionate golfer, owns numerous courses worldwide and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa essentially advised me to compete and have fun," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in only three events recently and has the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
But she can seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete in the world," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's an even better individual. He told me to play, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge several the biggest names in women's golf at this tournament, featuring second-ranked Nelly Korda, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to different demographics, particularly with youth audiences.
The social media influencer has millions of followers and just introduced her own fashion and living company.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
