Spurs Boss Thomas Frank Calls Vicario Booers 'Not Real Supporters'

Fulham Begin Powerfully to Defeat Tottenham and Raise Tension on the Manager

Spurs fans who booed goalkeeper Vicario were informed later "those individuals cannot be true Spurs supporters" by manager Thomas Frank.

Tottenham let in a pair of scores in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their tenth top-flight home loss of the year.

But the primary topic of discussion was the visitors' next goal when the keeper gave away the ball far beyond his area.

The goalkeeper ventured out to deal with a high pass and carried the ball near the sideline.

But, instead of kicking it into touch, the Italian turned and tried to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Harry Wilson and was collected by King.

The forward laid the ball off to Wales midfield player Harry Wilson, who bent a shot into the goal from the touchline recorded at thirty-six point six metres.

Moments afterwards when the ball came to the keeper again, some Tottenham fans booed him.

The team were booed off at the interval, with the side 2-0 behind, and once more at full-time.

One of those booing episodes really angered the manager.

"It came to my attention a few of our fans reportedly jeered the incident and jeered following, which, in my opinion is completely unjustifiable," the Danish manager commented regarding the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.

"Those individuals can't be true Tottenham supporters that do that. Fair enough booing following the game, no problem, but when we are in play, we are supporting one another, we are with each other going forward."

Kenny Tete had handed the visitors a early advantage before Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an better second-half showing.

Former top-flight keeper Joe Hart remarked that the next goal was "totally avoidable".

"I certainly understand the supporters' frustration," Hart added. "I am aware the part Vicario is playing. He's a great squad member, he is a true leader in the locker room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your actions.

"He was heavily implicated in what turned out to be the winning goal."

'It is Part of Football, I'm a Big Man'

Thomas Frank Defended His Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario After the Match

Italian national team Vicario is in his third season with Tottenham.

He said after the match that he had to take the feedback.

"That score was a error of my own, I take accountability for it," he said.

"My aim was to kick the ball long and I simply struck the ball in a poor way. That made an more difficult challenge to climb."

He said receiving jeers "is part of the game".

"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he added. "The team cannot be affected by the situation in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do as they see fit.

"It's on the team to remain increasingly composed, to focus on our own performance. The team is missing in calmness and poise to overturn outcomes. This match is a poor loss and it is hard to take."

'I Was Surprised Nobody Went Back to the Goal Line'

Despite the keeper's error, it was not an easy score for Harry Wilson to convert.

In fact it was the second longest-range top division goal of the season – following Adams' 43.3 metre goal for the Cherries against the Black Cats, which interestingly too came on Saturday.

The goalscorer stated he was "somewhat surprised" that he still had an open goal to aim for.

Ten moments passed between the keeper coming out of his box and the midfielder striking – which was five seconds following the kick.

"I felt like the goalkeeper was out of the area for a long time," Wilson said.

"It amazed me not one of the defenders returned to the goal line. When none of them defended the goal, my eyes sparked somewhat.

"Udogie fell too, which allowed me a bit of additional time. After that it was all about attempting to achieve the correct connection and place it towards goal. I felt a good sense, the moment it came off my boot, that it was heading in."

'During in a Bad Spell, All Appears to Go Against You'

Jeering Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Completely Unjustifiable - Frank

Although Vicario's mistake dominated headlines, this was an all-round poor day for Spurs to continue their home woes.

The match was their tenth home loss of 2025 in the league, a joint club statistic matching 1994 and two thousand and three.

The side still have home games against Frank's old side the Bees and champions Liverpool to play before the close of the year.

Only one of those victories have come since the manager took over from Ange Postecoglou in the summer.

"When you're behind 2-0 after six minutes, there is a mountain to overcome," said the boss.

"During in a bad spell, everything seems to go against you as well – the first was a deflected attempt, the next is a error from the keeper.

"This result puts us in a place where we have suffered another match. Each fixture has a single story, this game we lost in the early stages.

"We just need to continue striving. The second half was much better and hopefully an aspect we can utilize to develop."

Tottenham have lost 4 consecutive home capital clashes for the initial time in the Premier League.

Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 shots and 3.2 shots on target per match in the Premier League – their lowest rates on record in a one campaign (dating back to 2003-04).

Former Cottagers midfield player Murphy stated that the manager has to endure the criticism.

"He's got accept the stick," Murphy said. "He's taken a high profile role at a huge team with enormous anticipation. There is scrutiny and responsibility that comes with that.

"The performances at home have been disappointing and they have to get better {quickly|
