The relatives of young people missing after a tragic inferno at a venue in a Switzerland's alpine town are enduring an agonising wait for official news and requesting any details about their loved ones online.

The inferno engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Circulated video show the ceiling catching alight as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Authorities have indicated that it could take considerable time to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another over a hundred. A spokesperson said on Friday that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to name the remaining few.
