Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
