On Monday, the tribunal learned phone records and evidence obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most covered missing child cases and continues to be open.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am she? What happens next? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a living here in Poland, I only wish to know," the message continued.

The tribunal was told that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a genetic test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a bid to display a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "recollections" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an investigator with the police force who compiled the information, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with close associates of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann responded to a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I will continue and I will prove my claim."

Phone records showed Mrs Spragg had reached out via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to say the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be considered genuine in the time before the visit to the village, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court learned message exchanges between the two defendants, in that autumn, discussing trying to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her trash or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their residence, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which expressed: "We are sitting outside the McCanns' house with our headlights off resembling detectives. I wanted to do this with another person I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
